Invisalign in Nottingham: a quietly straightened smile, planned around your face and your life

Removable, virtually invisible and planned digitally before the first aligner is worn. Invisalign clear aligners move your teeth gradually into a planned final position, without fixed metal braces. At Zenith, treatment is delivered by Dr Edward Young, BDS, GDC 83843, an Invisalign Platinum Elite Provider. Treatment starts from £3,650 with 0% finance available, and every case finishes with complimentary professional whitening and custom retainers.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a clear aligner orthodontic system. A full arch iTero 5D digital scan of your teeth is used to plan a precise tooth by tooth movement sequence. A series of custom thermoplastic aligners is then manufactured to deliver those movements in small, controlled steps.

Each aligner is worn for around two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day, before you move to the next in the series. Aligners are removed only to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth. They are made from smooth BPA free SmartTrack plastic, with no brackets or wires. Small tooth coloured attachments may be bonded to selected teeth to help with specific movements; these are removed at the end of treatment without altering the underlying tooth.

At Zenith, treatment is planned and delivered by Dr Edward Young, BDS, GDC 83843, Invisalign Platinum Elite Provider. You see the same clinician from your initial scan through to your final retainer fitting.

Pre Treatment

Your journey begins with a free consultation with our Treatment Coordinator and a full arch iTero 5D digital scan. No putty impressions. The scan captures a precise three dimensional model of your teeth, used to build your ClinCheck simulation showing exactly how your teeth will move and what the final result will look like. You review and refine the plan with Dr Edward Young before any aligners are ordered.

2.

Treatment

Once you are happy with your ClinCheck plan, your custom Invisalign aligners are manufactured and delivered. At your fitting appointment, small tooth coloured attachments are bonded to selected teeth and your first set of aligners is fitted. You wear each aligner for around two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day, progressing through the series at home. Regular check ins with Dr Edward Young keep your progress on track.

3.

Post Treatment

As your planned tooth movements near completion, a short round of refinement aligners is often used to polish the result. Once active movement is finished, complimentary professional whitening is provided to brighten your newly straightened teeth. Your result is then locked in with custom Vivera retainers. Retainer wear is a long term commitment, not a short term phase, and we discuss this openly from your very first visit.

4.

Your New Smile

With your retainers fitted and whitening complete, your treatment is finished. If Invisalign has been planned as part of a wider cosmetic pathway, this is the point at which composite bonding or porcelain veneers can be sequenced for a coordinated cosmetic result. Your aftercare and any long term retainer adjustments are managed by Dr Edward Young throughout.

Why Choose Invisalign?

Misaligned teeth can affect more than appearance. Crowded or crooked teeth are harder to clean, which raises the risk of decay and gum disease over time. Gaps between teeth can allow neighbouring teeth to drift. Invisalign addresses alignment by moving teeth gradually into a planned position, improving both appearance and long term oral health. A consultation with Dr Edward Young will confirm whether Invisalign is the right option for your smile.

The Zenith Difference

Your Invisalign treatment at Zenith is delivered by Dr Edward Young, BDS, GDC 83843, an Invisalign Platinum Elite Provider. This recognition reflects extensive experience and a wide range of successfully completed cases.

Treatment is planned from a full arch iTero 5D digital scan rather than putty impressions. The scan generates a precise three dimensional model of your teeth, used to produce a ClinCheck simulation of your final result. You see where your teeth are heading before you commit.

You see Dr Young at every appointment, from your initial scan through to your retainer fitting. No being passed between practitioners. Suitability for Invisalign is confirmed at your free consultation, and your ClinCheck plan is reviewed and approved before any aligners are ordered.

Who Is Invisalign Suitable For?

Most adults who want straighter teeth are clinically suitable for Invisalign. The treatment works well for mild to moderate crowding, gaps between teeth, front teeth that have shifted with age, mild to moderate overbite or underbite, and post orthodontic relapse. It can also be used as the alignment phase before cosmetic work such as composite bonding or a full smile makeover. Where Invisalign is not the right option for your case, Dr Edward Young will say so and explain the alternatives clearly and without pressure.

Frequently
Asked
Questions

We want you to feel confident at every stage of your journey, so here are answers to the most common questions about Invisalign treatment.
How does Invisalign treatment work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom made aligners to gradually move your teeth into a planned final position. Treatment is planned digitally from an iTero 5D scan before the first aligner is worn, and a ClinCheck simulation shows you the anticipated result before you commit. Each aligner is typically worn for around two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day, before you progress to the next in the series.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment duration depends on your individual case. Most patients complete Invisalign treatment within 6 to 18 months. A personalised timeline is produced as part of your ClinCheck simulation before any aligners are ordered, so you know what to expect from the start. More straightforward cases under Invisalign Lite are typically shorter; more involved cases are assessed and quoted individually after your 3D scan.

Is Invisalign suitable for my dental concerns?

Invisalign can treat many common alignment concerns, including mild to moderate crowding, gaps between teeth, mild overbite or underbite, and post orthodontic relapse. For more severe crowding, significant rotations or complex skeletal cases, fixed braces or a combined approach may give a more predictable result. A consultation with Dr Edward Young will confirm whether Invisalign is right for you, and he will be direct with you if it is not.

Can I remove my aligners?

Yes. Invisalign aligners are fully removable. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss your teeth. This makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene throughout your treatment. To keep treatment on track, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day.

Will Invisalign affect my speech or comfort?

Invisalign aligners are made from smooth BPA free plastic with no brackets or wires to irritate your cheeks. Mild pressure for the first day or two of each new aligner is normal and means the aligner is working. For the first few days you may notice a slight lisp as your tongue adapts; this almost always resolves within a week. The vast majority of patients find Invisalign considerably more comfortable than fixed braces.

What is the difference between Invisalign and fixed braces?

Unlike fixed braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, smooth and fully removable for eating, drinking and cleaning. There are no brackets or wires. Invisalign typically suits adults seeking a discreet, flexible treatment with a cosmetic led finish. Fixed braces may be more appropriate for complex skeletal cases, significant rotations or growing patients. Dr Edward Young will advise which option is right for your specific situation.

Can I have Invisalign before a wedding or important event?

Often, yes, but the timing matters. For an event around 6 months away, an Invisalign Lite case is a realistic option. For shorter timeframes, Dr Edward Young will be straightforward about whether starting treatment is the right choice. Complimentary whitening is sequenced at the end of treatment so your smile looks its best for the event itself, not months before it.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Invisalign Lite starts from £3,650 and is suited to milder cases including minor crowding, mild spacing and post orthodontic relapse. Invisalign Moderate and Comprehensive cases, covering bite correction and larger arch changes, are quoted individually after your iTero scan and ClinCheck review. Combined cosmetic pathways pairing Invisalign with composite bonding or veneers are also quoted per case. A clear written quote is provided with no pressure and no obligation.
